This section is devoted to those wishing to buy one of these fine instruments.
Like turret clocks they are heavy and large, so take this into consideration.
Some quite rightly are used by the utilities in their receptions and historic sites.
Some, saved from skips and scrap merchants (list in the club pages), are now in private hands.
Early water, electric and gas meters are highly prized. If you have one please don’t try and turn it into a turret clock or scrap it, you could literally be throwing away hundreds if not thousands of pounds/ dollars. They form part of the industrial heritage. onAmission has a collection of these devices which is waiting to be displayed in the project centre. We also with association with commotions try to get them installations in prominent places. It may be you want a quirky meter for the swimming pool or a fantastic piece of technology for your visitor centre or reception. The most important aspect is to ensure they don't degrade, get preserved and so does their history. The picture above is the earliest Kent water meter we have on record, no 38, make by Kent, of Luton.
If you are unsure what you have then email us or join the group, we will soon be able to describe the item and bring it back to life.
