We wish to promote creativity within the next generation. The concept of designer, designer cloths, and products, is one project that tackles this, illusionary clocks another. Why wear somebody else's designs. Why not really stand out from the crowd and design your own garments or product?
Feed up with your skateboard, or want to develop a simulator, Then change from defining problems to resolving them and developing your ideas.
Sport technology has been chosen as a key area because it it is contemporary to the current generation, has a high content of technology and we have track record in this area.
This is wide ranging, from rugby scrum safety to optimisation of sports grounds, why not make the difference between defining a problem and resolving one with a project.
Sport technology is only one area in this broad field, dare I say. The concept is to get people and groups to engage into product design. This could be on a large scale, where we set up a product forum for a company, to somebody working in ‘the shed’. People say if only I had the authority I would change the world, you can! We now have the internet and the power of the individual, soon integrates to a group, all in short period of time. If you don’t like it change it! onAmission is an example of this, an individual that had an idea that did not fit in industry nor education, but with a single computer the organisation now has one of the largest international groups in electric horology.
Its so important to engage, and the clubs are there for that. We also run the www.troubleatmill.org.uk and the www.yoyoy.org.uk sites. One is a campaign site, which is what democracy is about and the other a ‘grumble’ page for the club. Its to air your frustration and think about doing something about it. Strength is in solidarity, and politicians and organisations are driven by votes and peoples views. A simple straw count, partition, soon becomes noticed and acted upon.
